Klondike
How to Play Classic Solitaire
Objective of the Game
The goal of Classic Solitaire (also known as Klondike) is to move all the cards to the foundation piles, building each suit in ascending order from Ace to King. You win when all cards are correctly sorted into their respective suits.
How to Play
- The game starts with seven tableau piles. The first pile has one card, the second has two, and so on, with only the top card of each pile face-up.
- Four foundation piles start empty and must be built up by suit, beginning with Aces.
- Cards in the tableau piles must be arranged in descending order and alternate colors (e.g., red 7 on black 8).
- You can move cards between tableau piles, draw from the stockpile, or place cards onto the foundation.
- When a tableau pile is empty, you can move a King (with its sequence, if applicable) to the empty space.
- Continue arranging cards and building the foundation until all cards are sorted into the foundation piles.
Tips for Playing
- Focus on uncovering hidden cards in the tableau piles as early as possible.
- Move Aces and low-ranking cards to the foundation as soon as they become available.
- Plan your moves carefully to avoid blocking essential cards.
- Use empty tableau spaces wisely; prioritize creating empty spaces to move Kings and their sequences.
- Be mindful of the stockpile; cycling through it strategically can open up new opportunities.
